A well-told story draws in readers, delights, moves, and informs them. Whether you are an individual or an organization, you have a story to tell, and I can help you tell it.
I am a writer and editor returned to the U.S. in 2010 after 10 years in Southeast Asia (Yunnan, China), where I worked as education project manager for a nonprofit organization. Working in rural Asia taught me how to adapt to a variety of settings, to adjust my skills to handle new tasks, to find joy in creative projects.
During those 10 years, I taught English and trained teachers, led projects in linguistics and second language acquisition, and worked as a translator, barista, dental assistant, and semi-professional truck driver. I did a lot of writing and editing, too — everything from monthly newsletters and twice-weekly blogs to a beginning literacy curriculum, a 1,200-word trilingual dictionary, and a 95-page book on an ethnic group.
Since working as a full-time freelancer, I have gained writing and editorial experience with Tri-City Builders Showcase Magazine, North Carolina State University, several print and online magazines, and e-book and blogging clients.
